Career Cruising Software

St. Mary High School subscribes to Career Cruising, online career planning software.

To use this career planning software, go to the Career Cruising website  and enter the username and password for St. Mary High School. (If you have forgotten this information, please contact the library.)

For first-time users, it is highly recommended that you create a portfolio to store your information.

The features of Career Cruising are displayed along the menu bar along the top of the software:


Career Matchmaker: Answer questions about your likes and dislikes to find careers that match up with your interests.

My Skills: Rate your level of skill in 45 key areas to see how your skills match up with the careers that interest you.

Learning Styles Inventory: Discover how you learn and retain information, and find tips on how to improve your study habits to suit your learning style.


Search by Index: Use the alphabetical index to quickly find the careers that interest you.

Search by School Subject: Pick a school subject and see to which careers it leads.

Search by Cluster: Select an occupation cluster and explore the careers within it.

Career Selector: Search for careers based on a variety of criteria.


Search for Schools: Learn about specific colleges and universities that interest you.

Search for Programs: Find college and university programs that interest you.

Apprenticeship Training: Learn more about apprenticeship training programs.

U.S. Schools: Learn about education opportunities at U.S. colleges and universities.


Portfolio & Resume Builder: Use the Portfolio Tool to organize your information and create a resume.

Employment Guide: Learn about work searches, resumes, letter writing, interview skills, job offers and advise for the  first days on the job.


Create a New Portfolio: This requires selecting a username and a password. The portfolio will store assessment results, as well as searches for careers, schools and programs.

Login to your Portfolio: This requires entering your selected username and password. If you forget this information, please contact the library.
