SaskPolytech Information Evenings

This event is happening in all campus cities – Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon on Thursday, October 20, 2016 starting at 6:30 pm.  Registration is required and individuals can register online or contact the Student Recruitment Advisor at the campus of your choice.

Loran Award

The Loran Award seeks to recognize well-rounded students who demonstrate character, promise of leadership, and strong commitment and service in the community. Up to 32 Loran Awards are available, valued at $100,000 over four years. The application deadline is October 19th, 2016 for sponsored applications and October 26th, 2016 for direct-pool applications. U of S Open House

Students who are interested in attending the University of Saskatchewan can attend an open house on Friday, September 30th. Students need to register online at www.usask.ca Students must also see Mrs. Rapin in Student Services if they want to travel with the school and have their absence school approved. The deadline to register is Tuesday, September 27th at 3:30 p.m.

Kawula and Davidner Memorial Scholarships

Grade 12 students are encouraged to apply for the Tillie and Joe Kawula Scholarship and Hershel Davidner Memorial Scholarships. The two $1000.00 scholarships will be awarded to students entering a recognized university or technical institute. One application will apply to both awards. These scholarships are open to Grade 12 graduates from Saskatchewan Rivers School Division, Prince Albert  Catholic School Division and the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Prince Albert campus Academic Grade 12 program.  An application form and additional information is available on the Pursueonline website. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, May 31st.

U of S U-Start Registration Workshops

The annual U-Start registration workshops for new U of S students will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 (2 pm – 5 pm) and Thursday, June 2, 2016 (6 pm – 8pm) at St. Mary High School. The workshops will give new students an introduction to the tools and information they need to prepare for university. Topics will cover:

  • ​How to choose and register for classes
  • How to use online tools like PAWS and course/program catalogue
  • How to pay tuition, find a place to live, and buy textbooks

Students who have been admitted to the U of S are encouraged to sign up online for the workshop or a webinar that works best for them! For more information, and to sign up, students can visit students.usask.ca/ustart ​If you have any questions, please contact a guidance counsellor in Student Services.

General Proficiency: Grade 9-12

The General Proficiency Award is presented to the student in each grade who makes the most complete contribution to the whole life of St. Mary High School, including academics, religious life, athletics, and school-sponsored activities. The application form for Grade 9 – Grade 12 students, available on the Student tab of the Pursueonline career website, must be submitted to the main office by Friday, May 6th at 3:30 p.m.

Grade 11 Rotary Citizenship Award

Grade 11 students are encouraged to apply for the Rotary Citizenship Award to be presented at the June Awards Assembly. This award is presented to a Grade 11 student who is involved in the school, community, church etc. The application form, available on the Student tab of the Pursueonline career website, must be submitted to the main office by Monday, May 16th at 3:30 p.m. The student’s academic transcript and attendance record will also be given to the awards selection committee.

Canadian Parents for French – Grade 9 to Grade 12

If you are in French immersion and are interested in applying for the CPF bursary, please see M. Gervais to get an application form. The deadline to submit your form is Monday, May 2nd.  Grade 9-11  is a $100 bursary and Grade 12 is a $300.00 bursary.

Build a Better World Scholarship – $500

Tuesday, March 15th, 2016

Eighty-eight $500 scholarships will be awarded to Grade 12 students. To be eligible to apply, students must be a member of Affinity Credit Union, or a dependent of a member. The deadline to apply is April 15th, 2016. For more information about the criteria and application process, go to www.affinitycu.ca.

Elwood Harvey Cooperative Scholarship – $2500

Two $2500 scholarships will be awarded to Grade 11 students in each of the 12 geographic districts. To be eligible to apply, students must be a member of Affinity Credit Union, or a dependent of a member. The deadline to apply is May 15th, 2016.
