U of S: What is Engineering?

The College of Engineering is hosting a virtual edition of “What is Engineering?” on Tuesday, November 17th from 3pm to 7pm. The presentation will include a virtual tour of the Engineering Building and a talk with the dean of engineering, faculty and instructors about what engineers do and how versatile an engineering degree is. As well, participants will learn about the completely redesigned first-year engineering program called RE-ENGINEERED with key priorities of student success and wellness. Sask Polytech Virtual Open House

Saskatchewan Polytechnic will be holding a Virtual Open House Monday, October 19th to Thursday, October 22nd from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. daily.  Students and parents are invited to attend to find out more about the programs and services that Sask Polytech offers.  Individuals can register by going to www.saskpolytech.ca/openhouse. An agenda will be available closer to the date, and links for the sessions will be live the day of the events.

Schulich Leader Scholarship

The Schulich Leader Scholarship is a prestigious entrance scholarship awarded to a high school graduate enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) program at one of 20 partner universities. The nominated student can win one of 25 engineering scholarships at $100,000 or one of 25 science, technology, or math scholarships at $80,000. The criteria include academic excellence, leadership, and financial need. It is important to note that students who are planning for a career as a medical practitioner or researcher (doctor, dentist, nurse, psychologist, pharmacist, optometrist, etc.) are NOT eligible to apply.  This scholarship is for entrepreneurial-minded innovators outside of the medical community. St. Mary High School can only nominate ONE candidate and nomination is competitive. If you are interested in being considered for nomination please email a list of school/community involvement, leadership activities, and a statement about financial need to Mrs. Rapin (meta.rapin@pacsd.ca) in Student Services by Friday, December 11, 2020 before 9:00am to be considered for nomination. House of Commons Page Program

Each year, the House of Commons Page Program recruits 40 students who are graduating from high schools and CEGEPs from across Canada. Students who maintain a minimum average of 80%, can speak both official languages, and have been accepted into a full‑time program at a university in the National Capital Region, are encouraged to apply. VIRTUAL SUITL

SUTIL (Saskatchewan Universities and Technical Institute Liaison) will be hosting virtual Booths, Presentations and Drop-in Conversations for Saskatchewan high school students about the post-secondary options within Western Canada and the US.  The event date for the Saskatchewan Rivers School Division, Prince Albert Catholic School Division, and PAGC is Thursday, October 22nd, 2020. To participate, students will need to download the FREE Zoom App to their desktops or phones, but are not required to have a Zoom account.
