Junior Citizen of the Year Scholarship ($3000)

The Junior Citizen of the Year Scholarship has honoured the youth of Saskatchewan for over 40 years. The program is sponsored by The Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association, in partnership with SaskPower, and the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan.  These prestigious awards are given to kids who: have a positive lifestyle, are dedicated to community and school, have a strong sense of caring and responsibility, have the ability to overcome life’s challenges, inspire others, and are between ages 8 to 18.  Four award recipients are chosen each year and receive a $3,000 bursary provided by SaskPower, to be used for their post-secondary education. For more information, please go to The call for nominations is now open. The deadline for nominations is March 31st, 2019.

U of S Academic Advisor at Ecole St Mary High School

Grade 12 students who have registered to attend the U of S this fall will have the opportunity to meet with a U of S Academic Advisor on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. She will be here from 9:00 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. The advisor will help students with course selection and any other questions they may have about registering for classes. Students must sign up to meet with the advisor. Please see Mrs. Rapin in Student Services if you are interested in booking an appointment.

National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) Scholarships

This $1,500 scholarship is open to Grade 12 students who are planning to attend a post-secondary educational institution full-time in 2019 – 2020 and who are the children, grandchildren, or foster children of a NUPGE member. Go to for information and application forms.
