The Industrial Mechanics (Millwright) & Welding Workshop is Saturday, April 13^th and Sunday, April 14^th from 9 am – 4 pm at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Prince Albert Campus. The cost is $150 for women age 15 and older. During the Industrial Mechanics (Millwright) portion, you will work with hand tools, some power tools and metal to manufacture your own take home project. During the Welding portion, you will learn to assemble, tack and weld steel, use assorted shaping methods and machinery as well as use cleaning, finishing, and cutting tools. CSA approved steel toe safety footwear is recommended. The Carpentry & Electrical Workshop is Saturday, April 27^th and Sunday, April 28^th from 9 am – 4 pm at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Prince Albert Campus. The cost is $150 for women age 15 and older. In the Carpentry portion, you will learn to use a variety of carpentry related hand and power tools safely, creating a project that you can take home. In the Electrical portion, you will learn the basics of electricity and how to wire a light, a switch, and an electrical outlet. (CSA approved steel toe safety footwear is recommended.) Grade 10-12 students are encouraged to attend the “Explore Trades and Technology Summit” (Welding, Carpentry, Industrial Mechanics & Electrician) on Wednesday, April 10^th from 9:45 am – 2:15 pm. Transportation is provided, as is a pizza lunch. (State dietary restriction on registration form.) Sask Polytech, in collaboration with Colleges and Institutions of Canada and Junior Achievement, has organized the day with instructors, diving into hands-on sessions, checking out cool demos, and mingling with industry pros.  Space is limited, so sign up soon using this link  Registration closes at Thursday, March 14th at 4 pm. Saskatchewan Polytechnic invites Grade 11 & 12 Indigenous high school students to spend Wednesday, February 28^th from 9 am-1:30 pm with their Indigenous Strategy team for a campus tour and informational session. Students will be bussed from École St. Mary High School and will return to the school by 1:30 pm. A pizza lunch will be provided as well as a round dance at noon.
