The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation’s (NCTR) Imagine a Canada team is calling all K – Gr 12 students from across the country to lead our nation through reconciliation and make the future of Canada a more respectful place. Understanding residential school history can be a challenging and difficult topic; learning through art can heal, transform and empower youth to make a difference in Canadian society. Students can share their vision of what reconciliation can be in a poem, a song, a painting, a sculpture, a rap, a drawing, an essay, anything! One student from each province and territory will be invited as reconciliation ambassadors to the National Leadership Workshop and Ceremony celebrating reconciliation. The submission deadline is January 31, 2019. For more information and to download the Imagine a Canada teacher’s guide, poster and social graphics, please visit: education.nctr.ca or contact the Imagine a Canada team at 1-855-415-4534.
