IBAS Young Community Leader Bursary: $7000

The 2022 Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS) Young Community Leader Bursary — presented in partnership with Red River Mutual — recognizes one graduating Saskatchewan high school student who exemplifies outstanding dedication to making their community a better place. This year, in celebration of IBAS’s 70th anniversary, the successful applicant will receive a one-time cash award in the amount of $7,000, to be announced no later than Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Regarding Eligibility & Selection Criteria, the recipient of the Young Community Leader Bursary will:

  • Be a Grade 12 student in Saskatchewan, graduating between May 1, 2022, and July 31, 2022, with an intent to pursue some form of recognized post-secondary education within the next two years (apprenticeship or trades program, college, university, etc.)
  • Demonstrate an exceptional commitment to their community through volunteerism and leadership of civic, school-based, and/or extra-curricular activities.
  • Be a role model for their peers and the next generation of young leaders
  • Demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum cumulative Grade 11 average of 80%.

To submit your name for consideration, you must complete a short online application form, which requires 250 – 750 words explaining how you have made a meaningful difference in your community, and how that involvement has helped shape your life and future ambitions. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. sharp on Friday, June 3, 2022.
