2020 Conexus Youth Leadership Award

The Conexus Youth Leadership recognizes 2020 high school graduates across Saskatchewan who show leadership in everything they do. Conexus will award 10 Grade 12 graduates across Saskatchewan with $1,500 and recognize them through our social media channels. Each winner will receive a $500 cash prize and $1,000 deposited into a Conexus term account, which can be withdrawn after one year, starting June 1, 2021. Visit Youth Leadership Award to view the award eligibility and submit the application by June 15th, 2020. Scholar Tree Summer Scholarships

Please note that every week scholarships that are about to open for applications are audited to ensure accuracy since there are often changes made at that time. Additionally, each award has unique requirements so students can see their own personalized list, if they create an account on ScholarTree.

 

National Union of Public and General Employees Scholarships

Each year, the 390,000 member National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) offers 8 Scholarships of $2,500 each that reflect its pursuit of equal opportunity for workers. Entrants must be the children/grandchildren or foster children/grandchildren of members or retirees of the National Union’s Component unions or its affiliates and who are planning to enter the 1st year of a Canadian public post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis in 2020. All of the 8 scholarships awarded will be based on the best 750 – 1,000 word essay for each scholarship. The deadline for applications and essays is July 6, 2020 and the 8 scholarships may have additional requirements, as noted at https://nupge.ca/content/national-unions-scholarship-program-2020.

 

Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan Scholarship

The Prince Albert Chapter Scholarship is awarded to a student who is committed to the teaching profession. In order to apply for the $500 scholarship, the student must provide proof of acceptance into a Saskatchewan College of Education, been actively involved in school and community. Bayer Fund Opportunity Scholarship

The Bayer Fund Opportunity Scholarship is for graduating grade 12 students entering their first year of post-secondary education in agriculture, food science or a culinary program at a Canadian university or college of their choice in the fall of 2020. Up to 65 scholarships valued at $1,500 each will be awarded to students based on demonstrated academic standards and leadership in their community. The application deadline for this scholarship is June 10, 2020. Saskatchewan School Boards Association Scholarships

Each year, the Saskatchewan School Boards Association awards a $2,500 scholarship to graduating high students entering a Degree Program, and a $2,500 scholarship to graduating high student entering a Technical/Trade Program. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated good character, community leadership, financial need and a 500-word essay. U of S Online Pre-Orientation: May 25 – June 12

U-Start is an online pre-orientation to help new U of S (USask) students prepare for university. New students can participate in U-Start by joining online sessions and by engaging in online resources (videos, podcasts, etc.). We strongly encourage all new students participate in U-Start, regardless of what term they plan to begin their studies at USask. By joining online sessions, regardless of what term they plan to begin their studies at USask, students will be able to connect with their classmates, advisors, and student service providers to ask questions and learn more important information. If students have any questions about U-Start, they are encouraged to contact the U of S at ustart@usask.ca

 

U of S: Admission Deadlines

Computer Game Programming Workshop

Students in Grade 9 – Grade 12 who are interested in coding are encouraged to register for a computer game programming workshop offered by SaskPolytech involving instructor-led coding developments and licensing. The workshop will be offered Wednesday, June 17th – Friday, June 19th from 10 am – 3 pm. The cost of the workshop is $70 and only 20 participants will be accepted so register early (deadline is June 10th).
