Junior Citizen of the Year Scholarship

The Junior Citizen of the Year award has honoured the youth of Saskatchewan for the past 38 years. The program is sponsored by The Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association, in partnership with SaskPower, and the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan. Four award recipients are chosen each year and receive a $3,000 bursary to be used for their post-secondary education. These prestigious awards are given to kids who: Have a positive lifestyle, Are dedicated to community and school, Have a strong sense of caring and responsibility, Have the ability to overcome life’s challenges, Inspire others, Are between ages 8 to 18. Opening Doors for Tomorrow Career Fair

This year’s fair will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Prince Albert Exhibition Grounds. The career fair serves students of three school divisions from Grade 9-Grade 12, as well as the general public. The goal of the fair is to assist young adults with the intentional creation of their career plans and the transition into post-secondary opportunities. There will be over 65 booths with displayers from Western Canada. The booths offer both post-secondary educational and employment opportunities for attendees and is sponsored by Saskatchewan Rivers School Division, Prince Albert Catholic Schools, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region and Prince Albert and District Community Futures.

 

Rotary Club: Adventures in Agriculture

This five-day program, held in Regina from November 25th to November 29th targets high school students in Grades 11 or Grade 12 who are interested in agriculture. It is designed to help broaden the knowledge and understanding of the multi-faceted agriculture sector, environmental issues and the challenge of providing food for the world. Art Contest: National Gallery of Canada

U of S Open House

Any Grade 12 students interested in attending the University of Saskatchewan Open House on Friday, October 2nd needs to preregister online at www.explore.usask.ca  Students who attend will :

  • Explore the campus and faculties
  • Take part in hands-on activities
  • Meet University Staff and faculty
  • Speak with current students about the U of S experience

U of S Academic Advisor at St Mary High School on May 15th

Grade 12 students who have registered to attend the U of S this fall in Arts and Science will have the opportunity to meet with a U of S Academic Advisor on Friday, May 15th. He will be here from 9:00 a.m. to 3:25 p.m.The advisor will help students with course selection and any other questions. Students must sign up by or before Tuesday, May 13th to meet with him. Please see Mrs. Rapin in Student Services to sign-up.

 

 

Request for Grade 12 Transcripts

Grade 12 students who are planning to attend a Post-Secondary Institution in September 2015 will need their high school transcripts sent by the Ministry of Education. You may order your transcript online by going to www.education.gov.sk.ca/transcripts Please see Mrs. Rapin in Student Services if you have any questions.

 

Tillie and Joe Kawula and the Hershel Davidner Memorial Scholarship

These two scholarships are open to Grade 12 students. Academic standing is a factor, however community involvement and volunteerism will carry the largest influence in determining recipients. Jack Moore Memorial Scholarship and Burgess Bursary

Saskatchewan Command, in co-operation with Dominion Command of The Royal Legion, is offering 10 scholarships of $300 each. In addition, Saskatchewan Command is offering 10 bursaries of $300 each. Students must be a child, grandchild or great grand-child of a veteran, of a still serving military member, or of an RCMP member. Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan (STS) Prince Albert Chapter Scholarship

The Prince Albert Chapter Scholarship will be awarded annually in the amount of $500. All applications must be received by the Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan (Prince Albert Chapter) before August 1 of the calendar year.
