TD Scholarships for Community Leadership: $70,000

TD Scholarships are open to students across Canada who are in Grade 12 and have demonstrated outstanding community leadership. There are 20 scholarships valued at up to $70,000. You can apply at www.td.com/scholarship .The application deadline is November 15th, 2021.

Schulich Leader Scholarship

The Schulich Leader Scholarship is a prestigious entrance scholarship awarded to a high school graduate enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) program at one of 20 partner universities. The nominated student can win one of 25 engineering scholarships at $100,000 or one of 25 science, technology, or math scholarships at $80,000. The criteria include academic excellence, leadership, and financial need. It is important to note that students who are planning for a career as a medical practitioner or researcher (doctor, dentist, nurse, psychologist, pharmacist, optometrist, etc.) are NOT eligible to apply.  This scholarship is for entrepreneurial-minded innovators outside of the medical community. École St. Mary High School can only nominate ONE candidate and nomination is competitive. Loran Scholarship

The Loran Foundation seeks to recognize students that demonstrate character, leadership potential, and service to the community. They are looking for young people who deeply value honesty, are curious by nature, and are interested in a wide range of subjects. The scholars they select are willing to take meaningful risks, show a sustained commitment to service in the community, have taken the initiative to create positive changes and are interested in working toward a better world. 36 Loran Awards are available across Canada at up to $100,000 over 4 years. Students can submit their applications at apply.loranscholar.ca. They may also view the award overview, information sheet, sample application form, and a recording or a 2022 Loran Award Information Session. The deadline to submit all applications for the Loran Award is Wednesday, October 13th before 8:00 pm ET. All eligible students will be welcome to apply by filling out the application, uploading a transcript, and naming a reference. Horatio Alger Indigenous Achievement Scholarship

The Horatio Alger Indigenous Achievement Scholarship is for Indigenous students starting a four-year post-secondary program in the fall.  This is a renewable award of $2500.  While enrolled in post-secondary students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and a full-time course load to receive the renewed support each year. The requirements are as follows: First Nation (status and non-status), Inuit and Métis high school students from an Indigenous community in the territories as well as attending school in the Northwest Territories, Yukon Territories, or Nunavut; Enrolled full-time in a high school within Canada at time of application; Starting in a four-year post-secondary program within Canada full-time in September; Have a valid Social Insurance Number. John M. Cuelenaere Public Library Scholarship: Grade 9 – 12

This $250 scholarship will be awarded to a Grade 9-12 student who has been enrolled full-time in the academic year of 2020-2021 and has distinguished herself/himself by being an advocate for literacy in her/his school or the community and clearly demonstrates a love of reading. While high academics is not a requirement for applying, the student must have proof of a JMCPL card and plans for post-secondary education. Preference will also be given to former or current employees of John M. Civic Leadership Scholarship: $10,000

Nelson Education is awarding students who have demonstrated academic success, personal strength, and determination in their commitment to civic engagement and leadership.

Indigenous Student Scholarship: $10,000

Nelson Education is awarding First Nation, Métis and Inuit student leaders who have demonstrated academic success, personal strength, with the intent to pursue post-secondary studies in Education.

Scholarship Database: Scholar Tree

With the school year quickly coming to an end, ScholarTree.ca has made a concerted effort to add as many scholarships as possible. Since the month of May is the end of peak scholarship season, there are a lot of awards with upcoming deadlines. Currently, there are currently 61 scholarships, with an application period ending in May, that offer 367 awards and a total of $960,500. To create a customized list of scholarships and a weekly email reminder of deadlines, students are encouraged to create a profile on ScholarTree.  Students can sort their scholarship list, by deadline, using the sort option at the top of the page (https://scholartree.ca/scholarships).

Diamond North Credit Union Scholarships: 7 x $1,000

Diamond North Credit Union has seven (7) scholarships, in the amount of $1,000.00 each, available for Grade 12 students who are members of Diamond North Credit Union (as of January 1st, 2021). To apply, fill in the application form and submit it with supporting documentation (copy of Saskatchewan Ministry of Education Transcript, which includes first semester marks of your Grade 12 year, a school-provided copy of your 2nd semester marks from April, signed by your Guidance Counsellor or Principal, and a letter of character reference from someone other than a relative supporting your community and/or school involvement). An application form and additional information is available at http://bit.ly/AwardGrade12 on the school career website. Sask School Boards Association Scholarships: 2 x $2,500

Each year, the Saskatchewan School Boards Association awards a $2,500 scholarship to graduating high students entering a Degree Program, and a $2,500 scholarship to graduating high student entering a Technical/Trade Program. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated good character, community leadership, financial need and a 500-word essay. Paddy O’Rourke Poetry Scholarship
