PAATA SCHOLARSHIP: 4 x $1000

Monday, March 30th, 2026

The Prince Albert and Area Teachers’ Association (PAATA) awards four $1,000 scholarships to graduating Grade 12 students who are pursuing post-secondary studies related to the field of education. This includes careers focused on teaching, educational support, child and youth development, community education, and service-based professions. If these categories are not filled, the committee will entertain additional fields. Applicants must be graduating in the year of application, accepted to a recognized post-secondary institution, and submit a complete application package by April 30. Scholarships are available to students from PACSD, Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division (Urban and Rural), and children of active or recent PAATA members. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership and community involvement, the personal essay, references, and overall completeness of the application. Creating Connections Job Fair: March 19th

Thursday, March 12th, 2026

We will be taking a group of students over to the Prince Albert Grand Council Urban Centre for a Job Fair on Thursday, March 19th for approximately 1 hour. The time of day will depend on how many students register. The job fair is an opportunity to meet and greet with potential employers. You have the option to apply with some of these organizations, so please bring your resume. (Printing and resume updating will be available on site). You are also welcome to attend simply to explore and learn more about the options available. Registration closes at noon on Wednesday, March 18th. Register soon, as there is a limit on how many students we can bring. SaskTel Indigenous Youth Awards: Gr 9-12

Friday, March 6th, 2026

The SaskTel Indigenous Youth Awards of Excellence recognize youth achievement in the following categories: Outstanding Academic Achievement, Leadership, Culture & Community, Sports/Recreation, and Arts & Science. Applicants can apply in multiple categories but can only win once. Eligibility criteria includes: must be of First Nations, Metis, or Inuit ancestry; must be between 14 and 18 years of age as of June 28, 2025; must be a resident of Saskatchewan and a registered student in Saskatchewan; must be able to demonstrate outstanding commitment and/or ability in one of the award categories (2 reference letters are required with current contact information for each reference as they will be contacted). The deadline for applications is Thursday, April 30, 2026. The awards event will be held Friday, June 5, 2026. Prince of Wales & Duchess of Cornwall Scholarship: Grade 11

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall Scholarship ($500) is awarded to a Grade 11 student to assist in finishing their Grade 12 school year. Four student qualities will be considered: school and/or community-based leadership, responsibilities outside of school, financial support needed and academic performance. École St. Mary High School can nominate one candidate and nomination is competitive. Please provide a list of school/community-based leadership, responsibilities outside of school, and a statement about financial need to Mrs. Rapin in Student Services by Monday, March 9, 2026 to be considered for nomination. Post-Secondary Institute Presentations

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026

Representatives from post-secondary institutions (Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies, Canadian Armed Forces, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission, and Saskatchewan Polytech) will be at the school on Friday, March 6th at 12:30 pm in the library (Room 128). Grade 11 and 12 students are invited to take this opportunity to hear about hundreds of programs offered, speak one-on-one with representatives, and apply directly to their program of choice!
