“How to Improve Your Community Competition” is open to Grade 12 students. Interested students are to create a written plan for a community development iniative. The winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship. The competition runs from September 15th until November 30th, 2012. The Loran Award seeks to recognize students who demonstrate character, leadership a strong commitment and service to the community. Up to thirty Loran Awards are available at up to $80,000. The Rotary Club of Prince Albert invites applications for students to attend an all-expenses-paid camp which focuses on leadership and has a lot of recreational activities. The deadline to apply is May 30th. Contact Mrs. McLeod for more details.
Students who will be attending a Saskatchewan-based post-secondary program that is associated with the Pulse Industry or Agriculture (Agriculture, Natural Science, Engineering, Nutrition) and have a parent who is a registered pulse producer may apply for one of five scholarships, valued at $5000, sponsored by the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers. U-Start is facilitated by the U of S and will assist new students and their parents with registering for classes, organizing class schedules, housing options, transition programs and more. The session will be held on Monday, May 28th at St. Mary High School in the Theatre from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
