Terry Fox Humanitarian Award

The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award ($28,000 dispersed over four years) is open to students of all abilities who are pursuing a degree or diploma at a Canadian post-secondary institution. Recipients are selected for their dedication to the humanitarian ideals of Terry Fox to improve human welfare, make a difference, and have a positive impact on community and others, their courage in overcoming obstacles (physical, financial, etc.), and definite marks of distinction and persistence in the pursuit of excellence in academic, athletic, and civic life. Alex Prytula Award: $2,000

During the Commencement Ceremony of Grad 2021, a male and a female student will be presented with the Alex Prytula Award which is valued at $2,000. The criteria for the award is as follows: outstanding contributions, financial need, and academics.  The deadline to apply is Tuesday, March 16th. Please review the information posted in Edsby about how to apply for this award.

House of Commons Page Program

Each year, the House of Commons Page Program recruits 40 students who are graduating from high schools and CEGEPs from across Canada. Students who maintain a minimum average of 80%, can speak both official languages, and have been accepted into a full‑time program at a university in the National Capital Region, are encouraged to apply. U of S Virtual Open House

Prince Albert & District Community Scholarships: Kawula and Davidner Memorial Scholarships

Grade 12 students are encouraged to apply for the Tillie and Joe Kawula Scholarship and the Hershel Davidner Memorial Scholarship. The two $1000.00 scholarships will be awarded to students who value academics, community involvement, and volunteerism and are entering a recognized university or technical institute. One application will apply to both awards. These scholarships are open to Grade 12 graduates from Saskatchewan Rivers School Division, Prince Albert Catholic School Division and the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Prince Albert campus Academic Grade 12 program.  An application form and additional information is available at http://bit.ly/AwardGrade12 on the school career website. Affinity Credit Union: Elwood Harvey Co-operative Leadership Award

Grade 11 students who are a member of Affinity Credit Union or have a parent or guardian who is a member are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Each student receives a $2500 award upon completion of the leadership program. Twenty students are accepted into the program. This award is offered by our District Councils, who have been elected to represent their communities within the Credit Union. The program gives recipients the opportunity to participate in their local District Council meetings and a variety of other events during their grade 12 year! Red Deer College: Entertainment Industry Bachelor of Applied Arts

Red Deer College is offering a new Bachelor of Applied Arts in Film, Theatre and Live Entertainment degree program. This exciting new degree is built on a foundation of communication, storytelling, directing, and business skills, and offers students the choice of three majors: Acting, Film Production or Live Entertainment Production. Graduates will be well-prepared to work in the ever-evolving film, theatre and live entertainment industry, or to create their own business opportunities. During the fourth year of the program there are no formal classes, instead students will be guided and supported by faculty to find experiences within industry or in the creation of independent projects. They are currently accepting applications for the fall of 2020 in all three majors. Students can complete the application process online.
