Architecture Presentation

Lesli Blacklock of AOBDT Architecture and Interior Design will present on Wednesday, November 16th at 2:30 p.m. in the Lecture Theatre. Students who are, or will be, taking Construction or Interior Design are encouraged to attend. Please see Mr. Miller to sign p and receive a pink permission slip for your teacher to complete.

Forum for Young Canadians

Forum for Young Canadians is Canada’s premier civics education program for students aged 15 – 19 years old. Forum brings students to Ottawa for a week of intensive academic adventure immersing them in the exciting world of national politics and public affairs. If you are interested in joining hundreds of other high school students for a week stay in Ottawa on Parliament Hill, please see Mrs. McLeod for more information or for an application form. Sask Youth Apprenticeship Meeting

A Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 15th at 12:20 p.m. in the Community Room. Students will meet with Tracy McLurg from Saskatchewan Apprenticeship who will help them complete their passports. Students must bring a pencil/pen and paper to record infromation. Lunch will be provided

U of A: Academic Excellence Scholarship

U of S: St. Thomas More College

St. Thomas More College (STM) is a Catholic liberal arts college that is federated with the University of Saskatchewan. As a result, an STM student is a U of S student at the same time and an STM student receives a U of S credit. Students who are considering entering the College of Arts of Science may want to register through STM so that they are eligible for the Les and Irene Dube Service & Justice Scholarship ($2000) presented to one student at SMHS graduation. Students who are interested in attending the College of Education at the University of Regina for the 2012-2013 academic year must apply by March 15th, 2012. Students who are accepted into the U or R Elementary Education program may also take the first year in Prince Albert. U of S Kinesiology Admissions

The National Union of Public and General Employees Scholarships

Students who have a parent/foster parent who belongs to the National Union of Public and General Employees may apply for various scholarships: The Tommy Douglas Scholarship, The Terry Fox Memorial Scholarship, The Scholarship for Aboriginal Canadians, and The Scholarship for Visible Minorities. Re/Max Quest for Excellence Bursaries

Re/Max is offering sixteen $1000 bursaries to Grade 12 students in Western Canada. Students are to submit an online essay that conveys the contributions they have made to their communities. The 2012 Quest for Excellence Program is open for submissions from September 12, 2011 to March 14, 20102. Terry Fox Humanitarian Award
