Forum brings students to Ottawa and immerses them in national politics and public affairs. This event will be held in Saskatoon on November 5th, 2013 at TCU Place. Students can explore educational opportunities, examine career paths and plan vocational goals. The application period for the following high-demand programs is October 1st, 2014-February 15th, 2015: Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology, Dental Hygiene, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Radiologic Assistant, Medical Radiologic Technology, Power Engineering Technology, Practical Nursing. This career fair will be held on Wednesday, October 29th, 2014 at P. A. Exhibition Centre. Over 50 exhibitors will be in attendance. Students who are interested in going should sign up with Mr. Gaumond in Student Services.
Grade 12 students interested in attending the University of Regina Fall Open House can do so Saturday, October 18th, 2014. Information can be found at www.uregina.ca/futurestudents or they can see a guidance counselor in Student Services for information.
U of S, U of R, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Lakeland College, Sask. Apprenticeship, Canadian Forces, and First Nations University will be at St. Mary High School on Thursday, October 30th. Presentations will be held during period 2 and 3. Students can sign up in their English classes starting October 20th or see a guidance counselor in Student Services. Presenters will also have booths set up over the lunch hour in the Commons.
Students can apply to the University of Saskatchewan and be conditionally admitted to Business, Engineering or Kinesiology with 90%+ admission average. Students must complete online application, application fee and preliminary statement of marks by December 1, 2014. See a Guidance Counselor in Student Services for more information.
For Grade 12 students considering a career in agriculture, the Ministry of Agriculture offers one scholarship valued at $4,000 and three runner-up scholarships valued ae $2,000. Students must be entering agriculture – related studies. The deadline to submit an application is March 1, 2015. TD Scholarships are open to students across Canada who are in grade 12 and have demonstrated outstanding community leadership. Please see Mrs. Rapin in Student Services or got to www.td.com/scholarship .The application deadline is November 28th, 2014.
