U of S – What is Engineering

Are you interested in the field of engineering and looking for more information on professions in this field and possible education options? This event aims to answer questions that students might have and provide an introduction to the educational opportunities for Engineering students in Saskatchewan. This event takes place at the U of S on November 9, 2015 and students must preregister. See Mr. Corcoran if you are interested in attending or see a counsellor in Student Services for more information.

U of S Engineering, Business and Kinesiology Early Admissions

Students can apply to the University of Saskatchewan and be conditionally admitted to Business, Engineering or Kinesiology. Students must complete an online application, pay application fee and provide preliminary statement of marks by December 1, 2015. See a Guidance Counselor in Student Services for more information.

TD Scholarships for Community Leadership: $70,000

RE/MAX of Western Canada Quest for Excellence 2016 Bursary Program

RE/MAX of Western Canada Quest for Excellence 2016 Bursary Program is offering (16) $1,000 bursaries to Grade 12 students. This program recognizes the success and ongoing pursuits of Western Canadian students in regards to leadership and community contribution initiatives. U of S Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships

Grade 12 students applying to the U of S with an average of 90% or higher (based on a 5 subject formula) are eligible for the Best and Brightest Scholarship. Application for admissions, transcripts, and other admissions documents must be completed before December 1, 2015. Please see a counselor in Student Services for more information.

Loran Scholarship

The Loran Foundation seeks to recognize students that demonstrate character, leadership, commitment and service to the community. There are 30 Loran Awards available across Canada at up to $100,000. The application deadline is Wednesday October 21, 2015. Junior Citizen of the Year Scholarship

The Junior Citizen of the Year award has honoured the youth of Saskatchewan for the past 38 years. The program is sponsored by The Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association, in partnership with SaskPower, and the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan. Four award recipients are chosen each year and receive a $3,000 bursary to be used for their post-secondary education. These prestigious awards are given to kids who: Have a positive lifestyle, Are dedicated to community and school, Have a strong sense of caring and responsibility, Have the ability to overcome life’s challenges, Inspire others, Are between ages 8 to 18. Opening Doors for Tomorrow Career Fair

This year’s fair will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Prince Albert Exhibition Grounds. The career fair serves students of three school divisions from Grade 9-Grade 12, as well as the general public. The goal of the fair is to assist young adults with the intentional creation of their career plans and the transition into post-secondary opportunities. There will be over 65 booths with displayers from Western Canada. The booths offer both post-secondary educational and employment opportunities for attendees and is sponsored by Saskatchewan Rivers School Division, Prince Albert Catholic Schools, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region and Prince Albert and District Community Futures.

Rotary Club: Adventures in Agriculture

This five-day program, held in Regina from November 25th to November 29th targets high school students in Grades 11 or Grade 12 who are interested in agriculture. It is designed to help broaden the knowledge and understanding of the multi-faceted agriculture sector, environmental issues and the challenge of providing food for the world.
