U of R Scholarships

The main U of R campus scholarship portal will be open in mid-January. Workshops pertaining to U of R scholarships, the Student Awards Management System (SAMS), as well as Campion College Scholarships will be offered from mid-February to early March. Scholarship information, including the dates for the various Zoom workshops, is available at https://www.uregina.ca/safa/announcements-workshops.html. The deadline to apply for awards is March 15th, 2021.

The Holiday Break Scholarship List hotlink leads to scholarships that are currently available, as well as the scholarships that will be available over the holidays. To create a customized list of scholarships and a weekly email reminder of deadlines, students are encouraged to create a profile on ScholarTree. Students can use the filter “Applications Open” only to see those scholarships currently accepting applications at the top left of their scholarship list.
 

 

Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Scholarship: Gr 12

The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Scholarship ($1000) is awarded to a Grade 12 student who will be attending a post-secondary institution in the fall. Four student qualities will be considered: school and/or community-based leadership, responsibilities outside of school, financial support needed and academic performance. École St. Mary High School can nominate one candidate and nomination is competitivePlease email a description of school/community-based leadership (up to 300 works), responsibilities outside of school (up to 300 works), a statement about financial need (up to 300 works), and a statement that highlights your academic performance (up to 300 works) to Mrs. Rapin in Student Services by Monday, February 1, 2021 to be considered for nomination. The nominated application deadline is March 15, 2021. 

Princess of Wales & Duchess of Cornwall Scholarships: Gr 11

Agriculture Student Scholarship

For students passionate about telling the story of the agriculture industry, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is proudly offering the Agriculture Student Scholarship for the eleventh consecutive year. Saskatchewan Grade 12 students and recent high school graduates (within the last two years) have the chance to win a grand-prize scholarship of $4,000 or one of three runner-up scholarships of $2,000 when they submit a three-minute video or 1,000-word essay. This year’s scholarship theme, ‘transparency,’ encourages youth to explore the idea of transparency in agriculture and how it affects public perception of the industry. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be planning to take an agriculture-related post-secondary education program beginning in the fall of 2021. U of R Early Admission

Early Admission Days (November 25th – December 2nd) is a special application period to help high school students fill out their University of Regina application. Students who send in their unofficial transcript and reduced application fee by Wednesday, December 2 will have their application processed within a week, and if admissible, will receive conditional acceptance. Students will also be contacted to choose a virtual appointment time in order to ‘pick up’ their admission package and discuss their admission decision! U of S: What is Engineering?

The College of Engineering is hosting a virtual edition of “What is Engineering?” on Tuesday, November 17th from 3pm to 7pm. The presentation will include a virtual tour of the Engineering Building and a talk with the dean of engineering, faculty and instructors about what engineers do and how versatile an engineering degree is. As well, participants will learn about the completely redesigned first-year engineering program called RE-ENGINEERED with key priorities of student success and wellness. Sask Polytech Virtual Open House

Saskatchewan Polytechnic will be holding a Virtual Open House Monday, October 19th to Thursday, October 22nd from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. daily.  Students and parents are invited to attend to find out more about the programs and services that Sask Polytech offers.  Individuals can register by going to www.saskpolytech.ca/openhouse. An agenda will be available closer to the date, and links for the sessions will be live the day of the events.

Schulich Leader Scholarship

The Schulich Leader Scholarship is a prestigious entrance scholarship awarded to a high school graduate enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) program at one of 20 partner universities. The nominated student can win one of 25 engineering scholarships at $100,000 or one of 25 science, technology, or math scholarships at $80,000. The criteria include academic excellence, leadership, and financial need. It is important to note that students who are planning for a career as a medical practitioner or researcher (doctor, dentist, nurse, psychologist, pharmacist, optometrist, etc.) are NOT eligible to apply.  This scholarship is for entrepreneurial-minded innovators outside of the medical community. St. Mary High School can only nominate ONE candidate and nomination is competitive.
