Prytula Charpentier Foundation: Alex Prytula (Male and Female)

The Alex Prytula Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship and will be awarded to a male and a female student based on the criteria: outstanding contributions, financial need, and academics. Proof of acceptance (letter, email) into a post-secondary program, and a digital photo must be emailed to lydia.mcleod@pacsd.ca .  The digital photo must be a high-resolution digital photo (2-4 megabyte JPG, not PNG) of the applicant doing an activity (sports, dance, volunteering etc.). Prytula Charpentier Foundation: Charpentier (French)

The Charpentier École St. Mary High School University French Entrance Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship and will be awarded to one student who: is a French Immersion student that has exhibited outstanding academic achievement and is attending a post-secondary institute in the fall of 2023 to study French. Proof of acceptance (letter, email) into a post-secondary program, and a digital photo must be emailed to lydia.mcleod@pacsd.ca The digital photo must be a high-resolution digital photo (2-4 megabyte JPG, not PNG) of the applicant doing an activity (sports, dance, volunteering etc.). The Martha Prytula École St. Mary High School University Music Entrance Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship and will be awarded to one student who: has exhibited outstanding participation in the École St. Mary High School Band and/ or Choir and is attending a post-secondary institute in the fall of 2023 with a focus on music studyProof of acceptance (letter, email) into a post-secondary program, and a digital photo must be emailed to lydia.mcleod@pacsd.ca .  The digital photo must be a high-resolution digital photo (2-4 megabyte JPG, not PNG) of the applicant doing an activity (sports, dance, volunteering etc.). Build a Better World Scholarship

Grade 12 students who are a member of Affinity Credit Union or have a parent or guardian who is a member are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Students must be enrolling for post-secondary education. This year, 30 scholarships of $1000 will be awarded. Elwood Harvey Co-operative Leadership Award

Grade 11 students who are a member of Affinity Credit Union or have a parent or guardian who is a member are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Each student receives a $2500 award upon completion of the leadership program. Twenty students are accepted into the program. This award is offered by our District Councils, who have been elected to represent their communities within the Credit Union. The program gives recipients the opportunity to participate in their local District Council meetings and a variety of other events during their grade 12 year! Youth Job Finding Club: Age 16 – 19

The Prince Albert Community Service Centre (101-15th Street West) is offering three workshops from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm on the following dates: February 28th – March 2nd, March 7th – March 9th and March 21st – March 23rd. Participants will prepare resumes, practice interview skills and learn about the hidden job market. CBC’s The First Page: Student Writing Contest

The contest involves writing the first page (300 – 400 words) of a novel set 150 years in the future, with the protagonist facing an issue that’s topical today and setting the scene for how it’s all playing out in a century and a half. This contest has two categories: Grades 7 to 9 and Grades 10 to 12. Each winner will receive a one-year subscription to OwlCrate (delivery of a monthly box with a book and book-related goodies) and the school will receive 50 free books. All shortlisted entries will be published on CBCBooks.ca. The deadline to enter is February 28, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Diverse Minds Creative Writing Competition

The Diverse Minds Creative Writing Competition involves writing and illustrating a children’s book about diversity and inclusion that is geared to children between the ages of five to ten. The book can be written in either of the two official languages (English or French) or it can be written as a bilingual book. Students can work on their own or in pairs – where one student is illustrating and one writing.
