The Canadian Scholarship Trust (CST) Foundation supports access to post-secondary education (PSE) for all Canadians and believes that finances should not be a barrier to accessing post-secondary education. The $6,000 bursaries focus on financial need, and students who demonstrate strong character: resiliency, community-mindedness, and commitment to excellence. As well, the students must be in Grade 12 and first-generation PSE students (students whose parents did not attend post-secondary education). The application deadline is Friday, April 14^th.  Students will have to complete their application in one sitting, including the following: financial need essay (500 words or less), accomplishments essay (300 words or less), future aspirations statement (75 words or less), reference letter attachment, and high school transcript (unofficial). This bursary is open to any student who is in the process of graduating from high school or currently studying or registered at a post-secondary institution. Applicants will be evaluated on their community and school involvement, knowledge of Kin Canada and financial need. The application form must be submitted by February 1^st, 2023 and winners will be notified before June 30 by their sponsoring club. The Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS) is offering the 2023 ‘IBAS Young Community Leader Bursary’ for grade 12 students entering post-secondary education. It is a one-time cash bursary amount of $5,000 to be given to the successful applicant. The 2022 Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS) Young Community Leader Bursary — presented in partnership with Red River Mutual — recognizes one graduating Saskatchewan high school student who exemplifies outstanding dedication to making their community a better place. This year, in celebration of IBAS’s 70th anniversary, the successful applicant will receive a one-time cash award in the amount of $7,000, to be announced no later than Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Regarding Eligibility & Selection Criteria, the recipient of the Young Community Leader Bursary will:

• Be a Grade 12 student in Saskatchewan, graduating between May 1, 2022, and July 31, 2022, with an intent to pursue some form of recognized post-secondary education within the next two years (apprenticeship or trades program, college, university, etc.)
• Demonstrate an exceptional commitment to their community through volunteerism and leadership of civic, school-based, and/or extra-curricular activities.
• Be a role model for their peers and the next generation of young leaders
• Demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum cumulative Grade 11 average of 80%.

To submit your name for consideration, you must complete a short online application form, which requires 250 – 750 words explaining how you have made a meaningful difference in your community, and how that involvement has helped shape your life and future ambitions. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. sharp on Friday, June 3, 2022. The IBAS Young Community Leader Bursary recognizes one graduating Saskatchewan high school student who exemplifies outstanding dedication to making their community a better place. In 2021, the successful applicant will receive a one-time cash bursary in the amount of $5,000. RE/MAX is offering sixteen $1000 bursaries to Grade 12 students in Western Canada. This program was established by RE/MAX of Western Canada to recognize the success and ongoing pursuits of Western Canadian students in regards to leadership and community contribution initiatives. Students are to submit an online essay (max. 1,250 words) which conveys personal motivation, leadership and communication skills in connection with their community efforts. Students can enter online at www.remax.ca / About RE/MAX / In the Community / Quest for Excellence The 2021 Quest for Excellence program is open for submissions from September 14, 2020 until midnight March 15, 2021.
