Saskatchewan School Boards Association Scholarships

Each year, the Saskatchewan School Boards Association awards a $2,500 scholarship to graduating high students entering a Degree Program, and a $2,500 scholarship to graduating high student entering a Technical/Trade Program. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated good character, community leadership, financial need and a 500-word essay. Affinity Credit Union: Build a Better World Scholarship

Grade 12 students who are a member of Affinity Credit Union or have a parent or guardian who is a member are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Students must be enrolling for post-secondary education. This year, 30 scholarships of $1000 will be awarded. SaskTel Scholarships

Every year, SaskTel awards 7 scholarships of $3,000 to students attending post-secondary Institutions in Saskatchewan who are studying in a field directly related to information and communication technology. The deadline for scholarship applications is March 31, 2020.

Eligibility:

  • Be a Saskatchewan resident (defined by eligibility for Saskatchewan Health Services).
  • Be enrolled in full time studies in the fall of 2019 at a post-secondary educational institution in Saskatchewan.
  • Be enrolled in a degree, diploma, or certificate program directly related to telecommunications. Programs include, but are not limited to, the following: Computer Science, Engineering (i.e. electrical, electronic or telecommunications), Accounting and Business Administration.
  • Have achieved a minimum 75 per cent grade average in their most recent educational standing.

Saskatchewan Agriculture Student Scholarship

For students passionate about speaking up and telling the story of agriculture, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is proudly offering the Agriculture Student Scholarship for the ninth consecutive year. Saskatchewan Grade 12 students and recent high school graduates (within the last two years) have the chance to win a grand-prize scholarship of $4,000 or one of three runner-up scholarships of $2,000 when they submit a three-minute video or 1,000-word essay detailing their food story. This year’s scholarship theme, ‘Our Food Has a Story’ encourages youth to have conversations with people about the relationship between agriculture and the food they eat. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be planning to take an agriculture-related post-secondary education program beginning in the fall of 2020. This scholarship program has been designed to identify young people who are planning to pursue an exciting career in the agriculture industry. Princess of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall Scholarships (Gr 11)

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall Scholarship ($500) is awarded to a Grade 11 student to assist in finishing their Grade 12 school year. Four student qualities will be considered: school and/or community-based leadership, responsibilities outside of school, financial support needed and academic performance. École St. Mary High School can nominate one candidate and nomination is competitive. Please provide a list of school/community-based leadership, responsibilities outside of school, and a statement about financial need to Mrs. Rapin in Student Services by Friday, February 28th to be considered for nomination. The application deadline is March 15, 2020.

Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Scholarship (Gr. 12)

The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Scholarship ($1000) is awarded to a Grade 12 student who will be attending a post-secondary institution in the fall. Schulich Leader Scholarship

The Schulich Leader Scholarship is a prestigious entrance scholarship awarded to a high school graduate enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) program at partner universities. The nominated student has the opportunity to win a $100,000 or $80,000 scholarship. The criteria include: academic excellence, leadership, and financial need.  St. Mary High School can only nominate one candidate and nomination is competitive. Please provide a list of school/community involvement, leadership activities, and a statement about financial need to Mrs. Rapin in Student Services by Wednesday, January 8th, 2020 to be considered for nomination. Gail Hartsook Scholarships

The Prince Albert & Area Community Foundation is offering two $1500 scholarships for students entering the Teacher Aide Program at SUNTEP and two $2000 scholarships for students entering the field of Social Work. Kawula and Davidner Memorial Scholarships

Grade 12 students are encouraged to apply for the Tillie and Joe Kawula Scholarship and Hershel Davidner Memorial Scholarships. The two $1000.00 scholarships will be awarded to students who value academics, community involvement, and volunteerism and are entering a recognized university or technical institute. One application will apply to both awards. These scholarships are open to Grade 12 graduates from Saskatchewan Rivers School Division, Prince Albert Catholic School Division and the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Prince Albert campus Academic Grade 12 program.  An application form and additional information is available at http://bit.ly/AwardGrade12 on the school career website. John M. Cuelenaere Public Library Scholarship

This $250 scholarship will be awarded to a Grade 9-12 student who has been enrolled full-time in the academic year of 2018-2019 and has distinguished herself/himself by being an advocate for literacy in her/his school or the community and clearly demonstrates a love of reading. While high academics is not a requirement for applying, the student must have a JMCPL card (providing a photocopy with the application) and plans for post-secondary education. Preference will also be given to former or current employees of John M. Cuelenaere Library, as well as a current Grade 12 student of École St Mary High School. An application form is available at http://bit.ly/AwardGrade12 on the school’s career website and must be submitted to the LIBRARY by Thursday, May 23rd at 3:30 p.m. This award will be presented at the school celebration/awards assembly on Wednesday, June 5th.
