Prince Albert & District Community Scholarships

Grade 12 students are encouraged to apply for the Tillie and Joe Kawula Scholarship and the Hershel Davidner Memorial Scholarship. The two $1000.00 scholarships will be awarded to students who value academics, community involvement, and volunteerism and are entering a recognized university or technical institute. One application will apply to both awards. These scholarships are open to Grade 12 graduates from Saskatchewan Rivers School Division, Prince Albert Catholic School Division and the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Prince Albert campus Academic Grade 12 program.  An application form and additional information is available at http://bit.ly/AwardGrade12 on the school career website. U of R Scholarships

The main U of R campus scholarship portal will be open in mid-January. Workshops pertaining to U of R scholarships, the Student Awards Management System (SAMS), as well as Campion College Scholarships will be offered from mid-February to early March. Scholarship information, including the dates for the various Zoom workshops, is available at https://www.uregina.ca/safa/announcements-workshops.html. The deadline to apply for awards is March 15th, 2021.

The Holiday Break Scholarship List hotlink leads to scholarships that are currently available, as well as the scholarships that will be available over the holidays. To create a customized list of scholarships and a weekly email reminder of deadlines, students are encouraged to create a profile on ScholarTree. Students can use the filter “Applications Open” only to see those scholarships currently accepting applications at the top left of their scholarship list.
 

 

Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Scholarship: Gr 12

The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Scholarship ($1000) is awarded to a Grade 12 student who will be attending a post-secondary institution in the fall. Four student qualities will be considered: school and/or community-based leadership, responsibilities outside of school, financial support needed and academic performance. École St. Mary High School can nominate one candidate and nomination is competitivePlease email a description of school/community-based leadership (up to 300 works), responsibilities outside of school (up to 300 works), a statement about financial need (up to 300 works), and a statement that highlights your academic performance (up to 300 works) to Mrs. Rapin in Student Services by Monday, February 1, 2021 to be considered for nomination. Princess of Wales & Duchess of Cornwall Scholarships: Gr 11

Agriculture Student Scholarship

For students passionate about telling the story of the agriculture industry, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is proudly offering the Agriculture Student Scholarship for the eleventh consecutive year. Saskatchewan Grade 12 students and recent high school graduates (within the last two years) have the chance to win a grand-prize scholarship of $4,000 or one of three runner-up scholarships of $2,000 when they submit a three-minute video or 1,000-word essay. This year’s scholarship theme, ‘transparency,’ encourages youth to explore the idea of transparency in agriculture and how it affects public perception of the industry. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be planning to take an agriculture-related post-secondary education program beginning in the fall of 2021. Schulich Leader Scholarship

The Schulich Leader Scholarship is a prestigious entrance scholarship awarded to a high school graduate enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) program at one of 20 partner universities. The nominated student can win one of 25 engineering scholarships at $100,000 or one of 25 science, technology, or math scholarships at $80,000. The criteria include academic excellence, leadership, and financial need. It is important to note that students who are planning for a career as a medical practitioner or researcher (doctor, dentist, nurse, psychologist, pharmacist, optometrist, etc.) are NOT eligible to apply.  This scholarship is for entrepreneurial-minded innovators outside of the medical community. St. Mary High School can only nominate ONE candidate and nomination is competitive. Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarships

HORATIO ALGER CANADIAN SCHOLARSHIPS

The Horatio Alger Association of Canada will be awarding 160 scholarships of $5000. The deadline to apply is Sunday, October 25th 2020, 11:59 PM EST. Applicants must be a Grade 12 student with plans to enter university in the fall of 202, demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or less annual net income per family is required), be involved in co-curricular and community service activities, display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and maintain a minimum grade percentage of 65. Loran Scholarship

The Loran Foundation seeks to recognize students that demonstrate character, leadership, commitment, and service to the community. 36 Loran Awards are available across Canada at up to $100,000 over 4 years. The school can nominate up to 3 students. Please submit a list of school, leadership, and community activities to Mrs. Rapin. If you are interested in being nominated by the school, this information should be email to meta.rapin@pacsd.ca by no later than 9:00 am, Monday, September 28,2020. Students selected for nomination will be informed by the school no later than October 1, 2020. You can also apply using the Direct Pool Application (unsponsored) found in the link.
